GuitarSarasota has been in existence since January 2006. Its inaugural concert was February 18, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Florida, and because of multiple years of SOLD OUT concerts, the International Classical Guitar Series moved to the Unitarian Universalist Church in Sarasota which seats 240 concert-goes.

Over the years we presented many concerts with outstanding artists from around the globe. At the same time, we invited some of the most distinguished teachers of the classical guitar to teach master classes to local and regional students. Instructors came from the Manhattan School of Music in New York, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Chicago College for the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, the Hochschule für Musik Weimar in Germany, and several other institutions. Many classical guitar students from schools like Booker High School in Sarasota, Southeast High School in Bradenton, State College of Florida, Hillsborough Community College, Stetson University, Florida Gulf Coast University and Miami University were able to attend those master classes – free of charge thanks to sponsorships by GuitarSarasota. GuitarSarasota is a member driven organization that holds its monthly meetings, six times a year at the Crocker Church in Pioneer Park, where everybody is invited to participate in lectures, mini recitals and socializing.
