Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Guitar Sarasota, Inc. collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of www.guitarsarasota.org website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Guitar Sarasota, Inc.

Who We Are

Guitar Sarasota, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to promoting an appreciation of the classical guitar, supporting its study, and bringing the beauty of this instrument and its repertoire to our community.

What Information We Collect & How It Is Used

We collect information to allow us to fulfil our obligations to you, and to respond to inquiries about our organization. For example, we may need your mailing address for sending correspondence, or more information, such as address and phone, if required by Stripe, our payment processor. You may be asked for your email address, phone number and other information by ThunderTix, our ticket vendor, when you purchase tickets online, so that we may contact you to confirm your ticket purchase or to process refunds. We keep donor level information for donations made to our organization so we can administer applicable donor benefits. Accessing our Site to make an online donation or ticket purchase will generate a unique order record. In doing so, you agree that we may contact you regarding that transaction and related issues. If you have made a donation, you agree that we may contact you in the future.

The law prohibits us from, and we do not keep credit card numbers. Credit card numbers may be kept by Stripe, our payment processor, as necessary for processing ticket purchases/refunds or renewing subscriptions and as required by law. Stripe has data-retention requirement proscribed by US law. Please contact Stripe.com for more information.

Customer information about past ticket and season subscriptions purchases and donations are retained by our third party ticketing vendor Thundertix until you instruct us to remove it. Some information, such as your email address, is also shared with Bluehost and Constant Contact, third party service providers we use to process emails and newsletters. You may remove yourself from our Constant Contact mailing list by clicking the “unsubscribe/remove” link at the bottom of every email sent by Constant Contact. You may also email us and have us remove you from the list. Removal from this list will prevent you from receiving emails updating you about events and other activities; it does not remove your past ticket or season subscription purchase records with us, and does not prevent us from sending administrative emails regarding your donations.

We do not gather sensitive personal data (e.g. health, genetic, biometric data; racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, sexual orientation, and criminal convictions). We expressly request that you do not provide any such sensitive data to us.

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us.

How We Protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Your payment and personal information is always safe. The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software used on our Site is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
