A Sound Future

Guitar Sarasota launched its annual Scholarship Program in 2020 to help music students fulfill their dreams and provide opportunities for building a successful future through education.

Scholarships are open to students pursuing a career in music and are based on financial need. This year’s scholarships were awarded in memory of Michael Stuart, a past Board Member of Guitar Sarasota and respected Sarasota teacher.

Guitar Sarasota President Rudolph Lucek (left) and Guitar Sarasota Vice President Frank Fernandez (right) presented scholarships to two State College of Florida students Isaiah Gomez and Ashley Heed.

Isaiah Gomez is a music technology major and Ashley Heed is pursuing a degree in music therapy specializing in special needs children. Guitar Sarasota presented the scholarship awards at a ceremony prior to one of the International Concert Series performances at Riverview Performing Arts Center in March of 2020.
